Undergraduate Admissions 

The applicant must have completed secondary school equivalent to New Zealand’s NCEA levels (National Certificate of Educational Achievement).

The scores required in CBSE, HSC, or ISC examinations are:

• For Diplomas and certificate courses: A minimum of 55 per cent overall, with at least 60 per cent in English 
• For Bachelor’s degrees and selected diplomas: A minimum of 70 per cent average over four academic subjects, with at least 60 per cent in English.

Postgraduate Admissions 

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised institution.
• A minimum B or grade 7 out of 10 CGPA and equivalent during the bachelor’s course.
• Relevant work experience in a related field (for some courses, including Business and Management) is necessary.

Otago Polytechnic’s Deadlines 

The admission process at Otago Polytechnic takes place on a rolling basis, i.e., students have access to apply for its various courses multiple times a year. For the admission intake process, there are two admission sessions. The tentative sessions of the semester remain (February to November and Semester 2 (July to May) 

There are a few courses that have three intake sessions. International students are allowed to apply until the start date of the programs.

Note: It is advisable to apply at least three to four months before the program starts so that they have enough time to apply for a student visa.
