What is Canada student visa & types?

University/College Selection: Firstly, we will shortlist prospective universities and courses that match your profile as per the eligibility criteria. Before applying for a Canadian visa application you must get a letter of acceptance from the Designated Learning Institute from Canada

There are 2 ways to apply the visa application to IRCC

  • A. SDS Process; – The student direct stream is an expedited process to apply for a student visa. You must fill visa application form IMMI 1294e & IMMI 5645 along with the other required documents to submit your application online at IRCC website. You must have a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of CAD10,000, and I year advance tuition fee needs to be paid.
  • B. Non SDS Process– The Non-SDS category is another category that supports students wishing to study in Canada in applying for a Canada study visa. The category specifically helps those aspirants to study in Canada who are unable to get a Student Visa in Canada via the SDS stream as they are unable to fulfil the SDS requirements. The prerequisites to apply under the non-SDS category will be varied as the category demands more documents.

  • SOP (Statement of purpose) (We will Guide) - (SDS/Non-SDS)
  • Copy of your Passport (old & new with front & back visa stamps if any) - (SDS/Non-SDS)
  • Academics (Class 10th onwards to the highest) - (SDS/Non-SDS)
  • IELTS TRF (Academic)- SDS: 6 overall no band less than 6 in any sections. Non-SDS: less than 6 bands/PTE/TOEFL
  • Proof of Payment (First Full year tuition receipt) - SDS, Proof of Payment (First semester tuition receipt) for Non-SDS
  • 1 Passport Size Photo in white background, 80% zoom on the face (Scanned) - (SDS/Non-SDS)
  • Letter of Acceptance - (SDS/Non-SDS)
  • Medical Tracking sheet from IRCC authorized physician - (SDS/Non-SDS)
  • GIC (Guaranteed Insurance Certificate) CIBC/Nova Scotia Bank - SDS, GIC is not Mandatory for Non-SDS
  • CAQ (for Quebec) - (SDS/Non-SDS)
  • Optional Documents for better chances of acceptance :-
  • Financial Documents (Affidavit) for Sponsorship - SDS, Not Req. for Non-SDS
  • Net Worth Certificate from Chartered Accountant not req. - SDS, Required for Non-SDS
  • Bank Statement of the last 3 months Not mandatory - SDS, Required for Non-SDS
  • Bank balance certificate not mandatory for - SDS, Mandatory for Non-SDS
  • PAN Card for sponsor not req. for - SDS, Required for Non-SDS
  • Bank Loan sanction letter - (SDS/Non-SDS)
  • ITR for last 3 years not mandatory for - SDS, Mandatory for Non-SDS
  • PAN card for sponsor not required for - SDS, Required for Non-SDS

Canada VISA COVID update

As of July 19, 2022, mandatory random testing has resumed for fully vaccinated travelers arriving in Canada by air to the four major Canadian airports, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Toronto. For details, see the news release from the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Cost of the Canada Student VISA

Students are required to pay a visa fee of 150 CAD and a biometric fee of 85 CAD at the time of submission of your application.

Canada Student VISA Process

These are some latest steps for a student VISA by Indian students are as follows:

  • Step 1: Log in to IRCC Canada’s official website

    Log in to IRCC Canada’s official website using your GCKey user ID and password. You can simply create a new GC key by entering preferred id and password. Agree to all the terms and conditions, and complete the identity verification.

  • Step 2: Enter reference code

    Step 2: Begin by entering your personal reference code. In case you don’t have the code, you may simply skip the process and proceed further

  • Step 3: Answer personal questionnaires

    Start answering personal questionnaires .Once you will answer all the questions, a pop-up will be displayed notifying you about your eligibility. You can move on to the next phase if your eligibility is confirmed through the SDS route.

  • Step 5: Examine documents

    Examine your documents and checklists and upload all the required documents . If you forgot to include something, do so now.

  • Step 6: Submit & Pay fee

    Submit the application and pay the visa and biometrics fee.
