The ACT or American College Testing is a standardized entrance examination used by colleges in USA to make admission-based decisions to their undergraduate degree programs. The test comprises of multiple choice questions in four key subject areas: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Scientific Reasoning. All four year undergraduate schools in USA use the ACT score to determine the college readiness of a student.
Like the SAT, the ACT provides an opportunity for students to showcase their aptitude for admission to four year undergraduate degrees in countries like USA.
The ACT examination takes place six times across the year so students have multiple opportunities of attempting the examination.
The ACT examination has an added section of Science that can be used by students to show their aptitude in the subject

The ACT examination is divided into four sections – English, Math, Reading, and Science and takes place over four-year duration of three hours. There is an optional section – Writing that takes place for around for around forty minutes.
The maximum possible score one can score in an ACT examination is 36. The average international score currently is in and around 21. However, it is recommended to have a score of 30 and above to maximize your admission chances in top ranking universities.
The ACT examination is conducted throughout the world in test centers globally. In the USA, the test is conducted seven times in an academic year. However, in international countries, the ACT test takes place six times a year, in the months of September, October, December, February, April, and June. In India, the ACT exams are conducted usually on Saturdays. A student can take a maximum of 12 attempts for an ACT test.
The ACT scores are accepted in top educational institutes in countries such as in Australia, the USA, Canada, the UK, and other countries.
