  • The scholarship is not eligible for combination with any other admission awards provided by the University of Toronto, and it supersedes any previously granted scholarships received upon admission to the Faculty of Arts & Science. If selected as a recipient of the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship at a later time, this award becomes null and void.
  • The scholarship is dependent on fulfilling the academic requirements of your secondary school program and meeting the admission conditions of the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto.
  • The scholarship requires full-time registration in eight consecutive Fall/Winter terms and completion of at least 3.0 credits by the end of each Fall/Winter session. Students who have been granted a reduced course load accommodation by Accessibility Services are exempt from this requirement. The scholarship does not cover credits earned during Summer sessions or transfer credits, and tuition fees for Summer sessions are not included.
  • The scholarship is only available to international students in the Faculty of Arts & Science, St. George campus, and is not transferable to other campuses or faculties.
  • The scholarship applies only to regulated fee programs within Humanities, Social Sciences, Life Sciences or Math & Physical Sciences. 
  • The scholarship will be renewed following the first, second, and third year of study (consecutive) based on academic performance and compliance with the Terms and Conditions outlined above. While no specific minimum grade point average is required for renewal, the Faculty of Arts and Science expects high academic achievement and students to remain in “good standing.” The scholarship may be withdrawn due to unsatisfactory academic performance.
  • In addition to the monetary award, recipients of the Arts & Science Global Scholarship are entitled to early course enrollment during their first year of study. This early access is only available in the first year of study and allows students to enrol in courses before their peers.

Other Important Information 

  • The Arts & Science Global Scholarship is an annual award for eligible program students.
  • The award is credited in two instalments to the student account after full-time enrollment is confirmed.
  • The first instalment is in November, and the second is in February.
  • If a student completes their degree in less than four consecutive years, the award will be applied up to and including their final Fall term of study, as long as they meet the award terms and are enrolled in a minimum of 1.5 FCE.
  • Recipients of the award are eligible for a tuition fee deferral, and details are provided annually in August before the registration deadline.
  • Recipients of the award who participate in the Arts & Science Internship Program (ASIP) are eligible for a scholarship deferral during their work term, provided they meet the award terms at the time of their deferral request and upon their immediate return to studies.
  • ASIP students who opt for a fall restart will receive their full renewal payment after registration confirmation, usually by mid-October. Students who choose a Winter restart will receive their payment after registration confirmation, typically by early February.
  • The award will not exceed the total originally offered value and will not exceed eight terms of full-time study.
